Louisiana Flooding

HAPPY SPRING BREAK!

Jake and I drove down to Louisiana on Sunday to visit with extended family and friends. We knew that Louisiana would be having thunderstorms while we were there, but we could not have known the amount of flooding that would occur.

Last night, we got around 13 inches of rain where we are– they are calling for 5-10 more inches tonight and scattered showers though Sunday. Jake and I are supposed to leave Friday in order to visit with our families before we go back to college on Sunday.

There have been over 100 homes evacuated thus far, and my grandmas home’s (where we are staying) front yard is halfway submerged in water.

I ask for your prayers not only for our family and our home, but for all those in this neighborhood and in Louisiana. St. Medard, patron saint of bad storms, pray for us. Mamma Mary, wrap your mantle of peace around us and keep us safe. St. Christopher, pray for us as we travel on Friday, hopefully!

Noah, where is your Ark?
