Happy March!
Hello everyone! Today I will be sharing with you some of my essentials for spring break! I took a road trip to Louisiana with my boyfriend to stay with my family and spend the week with them! Here are several things I had to bring for the road!
// Blanket //
This is a must for me! I always get chilly in the car, so a lightweight blanket is an essential!
// Book //
I love to listen to a book on tape in the car…but it CANNOT be boring! Jake and I listened to help for a couple of hours in the car and it made the time go by more quickly! Plus, it is so funny and I would highly recommend not only this book, but listening to one on tape in the car!
// Gum //
For me, I love to have gum in the car. Sometimes you eat too many cheez-its/gummy works (cough, cough…me) and your breath gets a little STANKY. Gum is an essential, and if you’re ears pop because of the mountains around you, it also helps!
// Spotify //
Okay if you do not have Spotify, return to this post once you do! It is an essential for me- not only on road trips but for studying and listening to music in my free time. Personally, I have Spotify premium and I love being able to create my own playlists and listen to my friends’ playlists for different situations! We listened to a couple of playlists from two of my friends on the way to Louisiana!
- KC + Roadtrip- My friend Olivia’s playlist!
- The Car Playlist – my friend Caroline’s playlist!

// The Podcast App //
If you have an iPhone, take use of your podcast app. I love listening to Father Mike from Newman’s homilies because he is such an eloquent speaker. I also love FOCUS’ Catholic answers podcast as well! It’s great to play in the car to pass some time!
// Neck Pillow //
This is one thing I forgot that I will bring next time on the next road trip I go on! When you need to take a nap and you can’t get comfortable (me) then you have a hard time sleeping (also me). Having a pillow and blanket makes things ALOT more comfortable.
// Cooler + bag of goodies //
Instead of spending $20 on gas station drinks and candy, bring your own goodies! Jake and I brought our favorite drinks that we had at home, along with some snacks- including fruit, pretzels, raisins, cheez-its, and candy! It saved money and my tummy was happy!
// Headphones //Â
If the person driving/in your car does not want to listen to your rap/high school musical/disney music, make sure you have headphones- especially if you are the person who doesn’t want to listen to the other persons music!
// Rosary //Â
This is a must for me- I love to devote some time to Mamma Mary on the road. You can really feel her mantle of peace around you!
// Journal //
If you are like me and write everything down, you will like this idea! I take my journal with me so that I can pray on the road- I love to journal while I pray to go back and see who/what I prayed for each day.
// Medicine //Â
Last and not least, especially with all of my health issues, bring medicine! Whether it’s for motion sickness, a headache, or your everyday medicine that you don’t want to take at 6 AM when you leave- bring it with you so you do not forget it!
I hope these tips helped you on not forgetting anything for your road trip you either are going on for Spring Break/coming up!
